Preble Hornet Boys Basketball

It's Go Time!

Building a Championship Culture!

Welcome to the Preble Hornets Boys Basketball Site! It is our mission to build a program with a championship culture. That means that our focus is always on doing what is best for the program, maximizing the experience of our athletes, and instilling a mindset in our athletes that success means working hard to get better everyday. We will strive to build leadership and effective teaming skills in our young men that benefit them as they move on to the next phase after high school.

Our vision is to represent our school positively and be recognized as a premier boys basketball program that our community can be proud of. It's a great day to be a Hornet!

20-21 Season Information

Preble Basketball Players and Parents!

I am happy to announce that we will have a season!  With the school board approving a plan for winter sports to proceed, we will begin our season with tryouts on December 21st @ 5:15 - 7:15 PM.  I want to assure you that there are many safety protocols in place to keep this season as safe as possible, and that we as a coaching staff are committed to keeping our players safe.  We will need your support by keeping players home if they are exhibiting any COVID symptoms.

There are a few notable changes to the season to ensure the safety of all:

  • There will be no fans allowed at games

  • We will livestream home games through our HUDL camera on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFEeVEPdlsvMcQKjqw_5iSQ

  • We will get livestream information out to parents for away games as well

  • We will only have 1 freshmen team (JV2)

  • Players will be screened for symptoms/temperature before practices and games

  • Teams will travel separately (Varsity/JV/JV2) and will leave as soon as their game is completed.

  • Players/coaches will be required to wear masks for all games/practices

  • I have informed players of this so they could find a mask that works best for them

Our current practice schedule can be viewed by clicking on the PRACTICE tab.  The game schedule can be viewed by clicking on each teams' tab.

We will have a winter sports Code Meeting on Wednesday, Dec 16th @ 6:00 PM.  The players and at least one parent are required to attend.  The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom and I will share that link as soon as it is available.  We will also meet as a boys basketball program following the code meeting (virtually).

All players/parents must sign the letter that was emailed to all prospective players/parents and returned before the start of the season. Please make sure all other paperwork is completed and turned into the main office this week as well.  You can drop off paperwork in the main office or email to me directly at: abobholz@gbaps.org.

We are very excited to get started and begin working with your players!  Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns.
